Help make the case for further investment in the sport for development sector.
13 Sep 2011
Over the last year social research cooperative Substance have
been working with sported. to create a business case for investment
into 'sport for development' projects for young people in deprived
neighbourhoods across the UK. The research is at a critical stage
and beginning to identify the types of organisations best placed to
deliver these projects and the support they will require to manage
them as effectively and efficiently as possible.
One outcome of the work to date has been the development of a free
web based application which will help small community organisations
collect and report evidence of the social and economic impact of
their work. Over the next six months sported. are particularly keen
that as many organisations as possible use the application so that
we can have confidence in the scores that will being generated at
each individual project e.g. better health outcomes or more
cohesive communities.
At the end of the pilot period, Substance will refine the
application so that sported. can make comparisons of the impact of
different projects across a range of outcomes and policy themes,
identify areas of delivery which can be improved and help guide
investors to the best prospects.
If you are an organisation delivering a 'sport for development'
project and would like to participate in the research simply go to
the link below and download the application to get started.

Substance will continue to offer support to organisations using
the application and and report their involvement back to sported..
