Penrose Judo Club secure over £4,500 funding to develop opportunities for young people

sported. are delighted to confirm that after several months of
one-to-one business support from sported. Mentor Alan Watson, the
club has secured a grant of £2,000 from Cornwall Community
Foundation and £2,895 from sported., to help develop judo
opportunities for young people.
Alan's work with the club has enabled them to produce a
development plan that outlines the clubs vision for creating up to
20 new opportunities for young people to participate in judo and
develop essential life skills, regardless of their ability. The
club currently run sessions in Helston, and is excited about having
the opportunity to expand their membership, due to the funding they
have secured.
Penrose Judo Club will use the funding to purchase new mats and
equipment to train with, and for educating their coaches and
volunteers further, to enable them to increase the numbers of young
people attending the club.
Julian Wills, sported. Regional Manager South West said "Penrose
Judo Club have worked extremely hard to make their services fully
inclusive for young people of all abilities. Through the mentoring
process, Alan has helped the club focus and successfully direct
them to securing the funding required to achieve their vision."
