sported. launch new grants programme in the South East

sported. is pleased to announce the launch of a brand new funding stream aimed to provide increased support to its member organisations. Members fitting the criteria will be able to apply for Small Grant funding of up to £2000.

sported. is a charitable organisation which provides capacity building services and funding to voluntary and community sports groups that use sport to support disadvantaged young people.

Rather than delivering its own programmes, the charity wants to support the hundreds of fantastic organisations that are out there already. This is done through playing the role of business angels, dedicated to sport for development projects across the UK which run activities for young people aged 11-25.
sported. has been active in the South East since January 2011 and is now actively seeking new Member organisations. Membership to sported. is free.

sported. supports its Members through a range of resources. The launch of the Small Grant programme is just one of a series of new initiatives by sported. to support Member organisations. sported. have also recently launched a new website with a dedicated 'Members Area' where members can gain access to Business Resources, Fellow Members, Research work commissioned by the charity and today also saw the launch of the 'Experts Team'. This is a skilled group of professionals who volunteer with sported. to support member organisations in key business areas. Members will be able to ask questions on topics within Accountancy and Finance, Business Planning, Communications and Marketing, Fundraising, IT and PR.

Alongside these services some members will be eligible for one-to-one mentor support to aid with development plans, budgeting, business planning and other aspects of organisation development. The volunteer programme is now open for anyone who has business experience and provides a unique opportunity for those who want to work in sport without having sporting qualifications.
