sported. grant success for North West Members

Grants awarded at the last North West grant panel in May
exceeded £52,000, and included the first large grants awarded in
the region to Members who had received Mentor Support. 10 groups
were awarded a grant ranging from £1,995 to £9,221.
The successful beneficiaries included Manchester Dragon Tae
Kwando Club who received £2,000 to deliver Zumba and Bollywood Keep
Fit sessions for local young females - the majority of whom are
from South Asian backgrounds. These sessions will be combined with
workshops on healthy lifestyles and other issues impacting on these
young females e.g. relationships and forced marriages. Winton
Wanderers JFC were also awarded £9,093 to develop activities
to engage young people at risk of anti-social behaviour, and
develop young people as volunteers.
The Small Grants Scheme has now re-opened in the North West and
grants of up to £2000 are available to sported. Members who have a
turnover of less than £50k and are not in receipt of a sported.
