sported. grants in London

A number of London Members were awarded grants at a recent grant
panel.
Recipients of a sported. small grant included Interlinkx CIC a
cycling and bike maintenance project in Hackney. sported. awarded a
grant of £2000 towards employing a youth worker to lead the bike
maintenance sessions on a local estate.
Members that have been receiving one2One support were also
awarded grants. Westside Community Foundation received £8000 to
deliver a Friday night basketball project aimed at diverting young
people away from negative behaviour.
Projects also recently funded in London include:
• Community Links, £15,000 towards a project
co-ordinator role to develop multi sports sessions and training at
a newly refurbished playing field in Newham.
• Thai Boxing Community Centre, £8, 430 to
increase the numbers of vulnerable young people using the gym
during the week.
• Proteks International, £9,200 towards more
self-defence classes for young people in various community centres
and youth clubs across London.
• Youth Scene, £8900 to deliver a youth sports
leadership programme for young people in Lambeth and surrounding
boroughs.
