Funding boost for Hertfordshire sports club
24 Jul 2012
Eagles Boccia PHAB Club has been awarded a £2000 grant from
sported.
The funding will support the club in its drive to inspire young
people with disabilities to participate in Boccia , Kurling and
other sports. The club, which is based in Hatfield, will use the
funding towards relaunch costs, coaching costs, venue hire and
equipment.
Dr David Sollis, sported. Regional Manager for the East of
England said: "The club simply inspired us in their passion to
bring Boccia to a group of disabled young people in the Hatfield
and Hertfordshire area. The relaunch into a PHAB club means that
even more people will able to participate, making a huge difference
to the community and sported. is proud to be involved with the club
and its vision."
Club Chairman Peter Stannard said: "Our club love sported. and
now our community will love them too. Money from the grant will
help people who don't usually get involved in sport, be part of the
sporting world."
sported. has been working in the East of England for the past 12
months supporting over 80 groups to deliver various outcomes
including reducing crime and antisocial behaviour, removing
